This bibliographic essay samples the available literature, which is vast (in English and Turkish), on the relationship of archaeology and museums to successive political ideologies in late nineteenth and early twentieth century Anatolia. Building on insights from the overview of the available literature, this essay will provide a curated list of further related readings.
